Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this Holy Grail Prototype/Sample 2012 manufactured Doug Turnbull Custom Shop special ordered 1911 chambered in .45 ACP. This pistol is unequivocally one of the most significant Turnbull 1911s in existence, being the Serial Number #2 prototype/sample gun built with exact military Remington "UMC" roll markings. This pistol was formerly owned by the late American director, writer, and actor, Frank Joseph Galati, adding unique provenance to this already singular firearm.

This museum-quality 1911 features a 5-inch barrel and is meticulously finished in Turnbull's renowned brushed Charcoal Blue, replicating the iconic finish of WWI-era pistols. It is stamped with period-correct Remington-UMC slide and frame markings. The pistol is 100% complete, including the original unmarked Turnbull black hard case, one original two-tone magazine, the original owner's manual, and extensive Turnbull invoice and order paperwork documenting its construction and its shipment to Frank J. Galati. Also included in an original historical letter from Turnbull.

The condition is 100% New Old Stock (NOS) and remains in perfect, consumer unfired condition. The fit and finish are flawless, showcasing Turnbull's world-class restoration standards.
